8 Hot Tips To Sell Your House
by Greg Cryns
If you are selling a home, it's not easy in today's market. You want home to be attractive to the most possible buyers, and
this can take some planning. With good planning, you can be assured of a quick sale at a good price.
Here are some items to consider before putting your home up for sale:
1. Make Repairs. If there is anything in the home it needs to be repaired, this should be done right away. Check or bathroom leaks, loose stairs or balusters, or any roof repair that may be needed. If you have a basement, be sure to check that as well. Go through your home on a rainy day to make sure you're not missing any leaks or drips. Better that you find items that need repairs instead of prospective buyers as they walk through your home.
2. Clear the yard. A freshly mowed lawn, clean flower beds, and weeded walks and driveways, can make your home look much better. These little touches if not attended to can cause your home to look old and run down. You want to show that you maintain the property well.
3. Clean the furniture. Just like the yard, having your furniture look its best helps improve the maintained look of your home. Especially clean it up and repair it if any of it is to be included with the home sale. Also polish and brass or silver fixtures that will be included.
4. Clean your entire home. Make sure everything is gleaming and bright. Even if it’s not in brand-new condition, making it clean helps tremendously. Don’t forget things like corners, switch plates, louvers and other places you might usually miss.
5. Fix plumbing and electrical systems. All lights should be functioning, and all water faucets should work and have full water pressure.
6. Check your windows. All of your windows should have working locks, and no broken panes of glass. If you can touch up any paint so much the better.
7. Check your floors. If you have carpets, get rid of stains and get the carpets professionally steam cleaned. If you have hardwood, make sure it is polished.
8. Last but not least, fix your doors. Make sure all exterior doors are in good repair, and make sure all into your doors are on their hinges correctly and can open and close properly.
